Red is considered a color of happiness, luck and good fortune in real-world China and it has all the same meanings in its Intercardinal counterpart of Lung Kwok and its satellites, like Kwong Zan. Red banners and paper lanterns are typically displayed all over the place during the Spring Festival (which many of us know better as Chinese New Year) specifically to attract good fortune.
Back over on the European side of things, specifically the English-speaking world, it’s considered rude, slovenly and borderline-anarchistic to keep you FREAKING MOUTH SHUT WHEN YOU SAY “WATER!” THERE’S NO “R” NEXT TO THE “A,” SO DON’T PUT ONE THEEEEEEEEEEERE!
